Ashfield House Bed and Breakfast, sited on the famous Wicklow Way is around a mile outside of Tinahely village. Owners, Helen and Noel McDonnell, have skillfully transformed this once-traditional farmhouse into modern day guest house accommodation.
For those seeking a more independent base, some of the outbuildings on the thirty-acre farm have been converted into self-catering cottages which are rentable on a weekly basis. Each cottage has two bedrooms, a fully-fitted kitchen, lounge and dining area.
Tinahely is the nearest village with a population of just over a thousand. The centre has all the important amenities, such as a bank, post office, several shops, pubs, arts centre and two churches. Sporting activities are also to be found in the area.
More affectionately known as the 'Garden of Ireland', Wicklow is set in the tranquility of a mountainous area. Ashfield House Bed and Breakfast is a great base from which to discover the county. There are many avenues to explore, such as the Wicklow Way, Glendalough National Park or the Coolatin Woods.
Other activities that can be enjoyed are golfing, fishing, horse-riding and the extremely popular annual event of the Tinahely Show which takes place on the August bank holiday weekend. At a more relaxed pace, there are several large shopping towns are within short driving distance from the guest house.
